Penetration testing (PT):
Color and fluorescent penetration testing is the most common surface cracking test for metallic and non-metallic materials. The colored or fluorescent penetrant is sprayed on and penetrates through capillary action into the cracks (impact time!). After removal of surplus testing agent a developer must be applied, which draws out the penetrant from the cracks (time!). In the developer layer even the tiniest surface flaws are recognizable.
Magnetic particle testing (MT):
This testing method is based on magnetism which makes it possible to detect cracks with the help of magnetic particle fluid (daylight or fluorescent fluids)
Eddy Current Testing (ET):
Eddy current testing is an approved method for finding cracks near the surface in electrical conducting material.
